Families wanted for at-home winter sessions

A relaxed in-home family photography model call for families in and around Launceston.

Winter family photos don’t have to mean standing in a park pretending you’re not freezing.

They can be warm, relaxed, cosy, a little chaotic in the best way, and full of all the little things that make your family feel like your family.

Kids curled up on the couch.

Bare feet on floorboards.

Stories in bed.

Cups of tea.

Pets wandering through like they absolutely own the place.

Tiny people climbing all over their parents because personal space is apparently not a thing once you have children.

That’s what I want to show more of.

I’m looking for a handful of real families to take part in at-home winter family photography sessions so I can create fresh images for my website, social media, emails, and future marketing.

These sessions will take place in your home and will be relaxed, natural, and guided by me — no perfect house, perfect outfits, or perfectly behaved children required.

Because honestly, if I needed perfect children to create beautiful family photos, I would have chosen a very different job.

What is a model call?

This is not a competition and there is no prize to win.

A model call means I’m looking for families who are happy to be photographed in exchange for allowing me to use the images in my marketing.

If your family is selected, your session fee will be waived and you’ll receive a matted print and print credit as a thank you.

The important part is that you must be comfortable with your images being shared publicly.

That may include my website, social media, emails, blog posts, printed marketing material, and paid advertising.

If that feels good to you, wonderful.

If you would prefer your family photos to stay private, that is completely okay — this just won’t be the right fit for this particular model call.

I’m looking for:

A mix of families in and around Launceston who are happy to have their family photos taken at home during winter.

I’d especially love to hear from:

  • Families with babies

  • Families with toddlers

  • Families with young children

  • Families with older children

  • Families with pets

  • Families who have been meaning to update their family photos for ages but haven’t quite got there yet

  • Families who like the idea of photos at home because it feels easier, warmer, and less like a military operation

Your home does not need to look like it belongs in a magazine.

It just needs to be your home.

We can work around washing baskets, toys, snack crumbs, half-finished cups of tea, and whatever else real family life has left behind that day. I’m very good at moving clutter two feet to the left and pretending it was never there. (I’ve even photographed families in homes halfway through renovations with plasterboard missing from the walls.)

How the process works

1. Apply below

Fill in the form and tell me a little bit about your family, your home, and why you’d like to take part.

2. We’ll have a planning appointment

Before the session, you’ll come into the studio for a planning appointment.

This is where we’ll chat about your family, your home, clothing, what to expect, and the product options available after the session.

I’ll also go through the model release properly so you feel clear on where your images may be used.

3. I’ll photograph your family at home

The session itself will be relaxed and easygoing.

I’ll guide you through everything, but it won’t feel stiff or overly posed. My aim is to create photographs that feel like your family — connected, natural, and honest.

Kids do not need to perform.

Nobody needs to stare perfectly at the camera the whole time.

And if your toddler needs a snack break, a cuddle, or a small emotional reset because their sock feels wrong, that’s fine. We work with it.

4. You’ll come back for your viewing appointment

After your session, you’ll come back into the studio to view your images.

You’ll choose the image for your included matted print, use your $100 print credit if you’d like, and decide whether you’d like to purchase anything extra.

Ready to apply?

If you’d love to be considered for an at-home winter family photography session, fill in the form below and tell me a little about your family.

Then you’ll receive an email with a link to book your planning appointment.

I can’t wait to hear from you.

What’s included

If your family is selected, you’ll receive:

  • A complimentary at-home family photography session

  • One 10x7” matted print of your favourite image

  • $100 print credit to use at your viewing appointment

  • An in-person viewing appointment where you can choose your favourite images and decide what, if anything, you’d like to purchase

There is no minimum order.

You are welcome to purchase additional prints, wall art, albums, or digital files if you love your images and would like to do more with them, but there is no pressure to buy anything extra.

I’ll walk you through all of the options clearly before your session so you know how everything works.

A note about your home

Please don’t talk yourself out of applying because your house feels too small, too dark, too messy, too normal, or too “not Pinterest.”

Most family homes are not photo-ready 24/7.

Mine absolutely isn’t.

At-home family sessions are not about showing off your house. They’re about photographing your family in the place where so much of your real life happens.

The cuddles, the chaos, the snack negotiations, the dog trying to be involved, the kids climbing all over you, the little everyday things that will feel strangely precious one day.

That’s the point.
