Professional Headshots in Launceston
Whether you're updating your LinkedIn profile, applying to acting or dance school, building a personal brand or simply need a professional portrait, I'll help you create relaxed, natural headshots that still feel like you.
Relaxed studio sessions of around 30 minutes
$185 including one professionally edited image
A headshot should look like you on your very best day.
You don’t need to know how to pose. You don’t need modelling experience. You definitely don’t need to practise your professional smile in the mirror beforehand.
Most people arrive telling me they feel awkward in front of the camera. That’s completely normal.
My job is to guide you through the session, help you settle in and make all the little adjustments that are difficult to see when you’re the person standing in front of the camera.
We’ll work through different expressions, angles and small changes until we create something that feels polished, confident and—most importantly—still like you.
Depending on what you need your headshot for, you can choose a light or dark studio background, or we can use my outdoor studio for a softer, more natural look.
Headshots for wherever you’re headed next
Business & Corporate Headshots
Your headshot is often one of the first things a potential client, employer or colleague sees—but that doesn’t mean it needs to feel overly stiff or corporate.
Whether you need a polished LinkedIn photograph, an updated image for your company website or a professional portrait for speaking engagements and press, we’ll create something appropriate for your industry while still feeling natural and approachable.
Before your session, the booking questionnaire will ask where the image will be used and whether there are any brand, background or cropping requirements I need to consider.
Business headshots are suitable for:
LinkedIn profiles
Company websites
Email signatures
Professional directories
Business cards
Press releases and media
Speaking and conference profiles
Need consistent headshots for several members of your team? I also photograph small and large teams, with discounted pricing available for group bookings. Send me an email with the approximate number of people and what you need, and I’ll put together a quote.
Acting and Performing-Arts Headshots
Applying for acting school, dance school, musical theatre or another performing-arts course is already a fairly big adventure. Organising the headshot doesn’t need to be another stressful part of the application.
We can create a clear, current headshot for your application, along with additional expressions or looks if you need a little more variety for auditions, casting profiles or creative portfolios.
Different schools and courses may have their own requirements, so include any instructions you’ve received in your booking questionnaire or bring them with you to the studio. I can then consider things such as the requested background, framing, expression and file crop during your session.
And if this is your first professional photo session, that is completely fine. I’ll talk you through what to do and help you find expressions that feel natural rather than leaving you alone in front of the camera wondering whether you’re doing it correctly.
These sessions can be used for:
Acting-school applications
Dance-school applications
Musical-theatre courses
Audition submissions
Casting profiles
Creative portfolios
Agency profiles
Personal Branding and Creative Headshots
When you are the face of your work, a standard corporate photograph may not feel quite right.
Personal-branding headshots are ideal for small-business owners, creatives and professionals who want an image that feels polished but still reflects some personality. Depending on your work and the way you want to present yourself, we can create something clean and professional in the studio or use the outdoor studio for a more relaxed look.
Your booking questionnaire gives you space to tell me about your work, where the photographs will be used and the overall feeling you want them to have. You’re also welcome to bring a couple of outfits if you’d like options for different platforms or parts of your business.
Personal-branding headshots work well for:
About pages
Social-media profiles
Creative portfolios
Authors and speakers
Artists and performers
Small-business owners
Marketing materials
Podcast and media appearances
A headshot session is best when you need a small selection of strong portraits. If you need a much broader collection of photographs showing your work, process, products or workspace, get in touch about a larger branding session instead.
HOW YOUR HEADSHOT SESSION WORKS
1. Choose your appointment
Use the online calendar below to find an available session time that suits you.
Your session is confirmed through the booking system, so you don’t need to organise a separate consultation or planning appointment first.
2. Tell me what you need
When you book, you’ll complete a short questionnaire about what the headshot is for, where you intend to use it and whether you have any specific requirements.
This gives me enough information to prepare for your session without making the process more complicated than it needs to be.
3. Come into the studio
Your session will take roughly 30 minutes, depending on your brief and whether you’ve brought a change of outfit.
During the session, I’ll photograph you across a range of different setups, including the light and dark studio backgrounds, the indoor couch and bookshelf area, and—if the weather behaves—the outdoor studio as well.
If you’ve brought another outfit, we’ll work through that too, so you have a good mix of images to choose from. I’ll guide you through your expressions and posing the whole way, so you won’t be expected to arrive knowing what to do.
4. View and download your photographs
Within three business days, your images will be uploaded to a private online gallery.
From there, you can view the photographs, select your included image, purchase any additional images you’d like for $35 each, and download your finished files directly from the gallery.

“I think headshots can always be a bit daunting - you want to put your best foot forward, and you don’t want to give the fake smile to the camera! Doing them with Sam meant that I was laughing and joking the whole time, feeling natural and generally just having fun, and ended up with some really amazing pictures that represent me fully. I felt super comfortable putting them out into the world and was really excited by the end result. I will go back to her everytime!”
