I was born with photography in my DNA. Literally. My parents have run a successful photography studio since 1989, years before I even came into the world. I like to joke that my first industry event was at 3 months old, tucked away in a baby capsule under the table. Photography has always been a part of my family's essence, but for the longest time, I resisted the call of the lens. I dreamt of film reels, not camera shutters. So, at 18, I moved to Melbourne to pursue a degree in Film and Digital Media at Deakin University.

I was convinced—film was my destiny. Yet, in a serendipitous twist, I ended up taking some photography classes to complement my filmmaking skills. And guess what? By the time I graduated, I found myself one unit short of a double major in photography. Maybe the universe was trying to tell me something.

After uni, I delved into various aspects of the photography industry, from print quality—which remains a passion—to managing a hire department for high-end photographic equipment. Each experience was like a puzzle piece, fitting me perfectly into the grand picture of becoming a photographer.

Seven years later, I returned home to Tasmania and stepped into my parents' business, filling a gap they needed at that time. Working alongside my dad gave me not only an exceptional mentor but also the freedom to cultivate my own approach to photography.
